Dacia Duster Third Generation (2024 - 2026) Full User Manuals

Vehicle HYBRID

1. System

The Dacia Duster Third Generation Hybrid combines the power of a petrol engine and electric motor, boosting acceleration and performance, as well as providing improved start-up response and fuel economy.

Depending on the driving demands, the Third Generation vehicle can also run in total electric mode using the high voltage traction battery, and if required the petrol engine can continue to propel the vehicle while the traction battery is recharged.

2. Batteries

The hybrid vehicle is equipped with two batteries:
A 230 V traction battery storing the electric energy used to power the electric motor, which is placed under the vehicle floor at the rear.

A 12 V battery located in the luggage compartment, powering up the vehicle electrical systems and controlling the locking/unlocking function of the vehicle.

3. Pedestrian Warning Sound

The pedestrian warning sound deters pedestrians and cyclists. It is activated automatically when the vehicle is started and driven at a slow speed, between 1-30 km/h (1-19 mph).

4. Key Card Functions

The Dacia Duster key card offers convenient control of several vehicle functions in the Third Generation, such as: Depending on the vehicle equipped, its use allows to Open, the doors and the boot Lock all the doors and other openings. Lock or unlock the boot in the Third Generation. Switch the headlights on remotely. Open or close the electric windows remotely.

5. Operating Range

The range of the key card may vary in different environments. Avoid accidental activation of the function that might lead to locking or unlocking of the car.In the event that a car door or the boot is partially open or not closed properly, it will be unable to lock itself and will sound an alarm.

6. Battery and Interference

If any other electronic equipment or devices are operated near the key card or at the same frequency, it may cause malfunction. If the master card is not working, try to stay away from any interference sources.

Make sure you are using the right batteries and they are placed in the right direction. The key card battery should be replaced every two years or when the “Key card Battery Low” warning appears on the instrument cluster

Seat Belt

1. Seat Belt Safety Guide

Always remember to wear the seat belt while driving your Dacia Duster Third Generation and follow the seat belt law of your country. When getting ready to start the engine, always adjust the seat and ask all the passengers to fasten the seat belts.

Make sure to sit well in the seat with the belt close to the body but not making big folds of clothes in it in the Third Generation. It is necessary to adjust the seat in a way so you can reach all the pedals and have slightly bent elbows while holding the steering wheel in the Third Generation. The headrest and seat should be adjusted so you can have a good view of the road. Make sure that seat belt always follows the body taking away the folds of the clothes in the third Generation.

During unbuckling, unwind the belt from the reel. Insert the buckle in to the catch until it clicks. Always do the test pull to verify that the belt is properly worn.

2. Child Seat Safety

When to select a child seat for new borns? A child should go to a rear-facing child seat for as long as possible as it can best support the head and the neck in the Third Generation.

We recommend using a child seat that has a good side protection, which should be replaced when the child outgrows it. Once children are big enough, they should be in a forward-facing child seat with a safety harness appropriate to their size and the manufacturer’s recommendations in the Third Generation.

From around 15 kg / 4 years, a suitable booster seat can be used to enable the vehicle’s seat belt to be positioned correctly over the thighs and shoulder – it must not lie across the stomach, neck or arms. The child seat must always be secured correctly and fitted before driving off in the Third Generation.

Warning Lights

1. Warning Lights Guide

The warning lights may vary depending Dacia Duster, equipment and country. They warn you about relevant situations with regard to the vehicle or of imminent danger.

The door mirrors can be equipped to fold out when unlocking and fold in when locking the vehicle, depending on the vehicle variant. Should the door mirror have been folded manually, it can be reset to the normal position by pressing switch 3. If required, repeat this procedure until the door mirror is in the correct position.

3. Lighting and signals

Turn ring 2 until the desired lighting symbol is aligned with mark 3. The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) will illuminate when the engine is switched on and will be switched off when the engine is switched off.

Pull stalk 1 towards you to switch between dipped-beam and main-beam headlights on the third Generation. The main-beam headlight indicator light then lights up in the instrument cluster. If your vehicle is so equipped, the automatic main-beam headlights function causes the headlights to automatically turn between dipped and main beam.

A camera mounted near the interior rear view mirror detects oncoming traffic and the road ahead to assist in selecting the appropriate headlight mode in the Third Generation. The Daytime Running Lights and the rear side lights can also turn on when the vehicle is unlocked or when the key card is detected, depending on the vehicle equipment.

Driving Using Guides

1. Manual Gearbox

Before selecting reverse gear, ensure that the vehicle is stationary in the Dacia Duster Third Generation. Refer to the gear pattern on the gear lever and lift the reverse-gear ring before moving the lever into the reverse position. When reverse gears are engaged with the ignition on, the reversing lights illuminate to show that the car is in reverse.

2. Automatic and Hybrid Gearbox

1. P(Park): Locks transmission when vehicle is parked. Use only when vehicle is stationary.
2. R(Reverse): Lowers the vehicle's gear to allow it to move backwards. Use only when the vehicle is stopped.
3. N (Neutral): Disengages transmission from the drive system.
4. D (Drive): Lowers the gears to select the normal automatic driving position for moving the vehicle forward.
5. B: On certain hybrid vehicles and lowers the gears to increase regenerative braking while driving.

3. Starting and Selecting a Gear

To start the engine of automatically controlled or hybrid Dacia Duster, put the car in the parking position and make sure that the brake pedal is held down. When the car is on hybrid power, the indicator READY will be displayed on the control panel.

The brake pedal is held down, the gear shift lever is moved to the desired position (R, N, D or B) for moving the car or the required operating mode, and then the gear shift lever is returned to the neutral position.

4. Selecting Park

The catalytic converter reduces harmful emissions from the tailpipe of your Dacia Duster Third Generation. To protect the catalytic converter and to obtain the best performance from your car, never run your tank down to a low fuel level for extended periods of time. Do not use leaded petrol or oil or unapproved additives in the fuel.

Faults in the engine such as a faulty ignition system, fuel starvation or damaged or detached spark plugs can cause the engine to misfire or jerk when running in the Third Generation. This can result in the catalytic converter becoming excessively hot, decreasing its efficiency and potentially permanently damaging the catalytic converter and surrounding components.

If engine misfiring, abnormal jerking, starting difficulties or other engine faults are suspected, the vehicle should be presented to an authorised Dacia Dealer as soon as possible for inspection and repair. Correct and regular maintenance at the recommended service intervals should also help to avoid such problems.

If the engine fails to start, avoid repeated starting attempts, pushing or towing of the vehicle until the cause of the starting fault has been identified and rectified. Such procedures may permanently damage the catalytic converter or the starter motor and damage the vehicle's battery.

If the cause of the starting fault is not apparent, stop trying to start the engine and contact your nearest authorised Dacia Dealer. Should a warning light be in combination with a "Check injection" message on the vehicle's instrument panel, the vehicle should be taken to an authorised Dacia Dealer as soon as possible

5. Dacia Duster Tyre Pressure Loss Warning

The tyre pressure monitoring system warns you when one or more tyres are losing pressure. It monitors the speed of each wheel and senses any difference in speed, indicating that a tyre is flat or that there is a problem with that particular wheel.

It is recommended that you check the pressure of the tyres regularly, particularly prior to a long journey and at least once a month. You should always check your tyres when they are cold and the recommended pressure can be found on a plate on the driver's door. The correct pressure may vary according to the weight being carried and the road conditions.

6. When to Reset the Tyre Pressure System

The system should be reset after inflating or deflating the tyre pressure or after changing or rotating wheels. A correct pressure for each tyre must be reached before resetting the system because of the different load conditions and driving behaviour.
Wrong pressures after the system reset will prevent the correct warning function. The vehicle should be driven until the system resets the warning again to relearn the correct pressure.

If the warning is active despite the correct pressure, check if there is any damage on the tyres or a puncture and take the vehicle to a qualified dealer if necessary.

7. Activating the Speed Limiter

To activate the speed limiter, press the speed limiter control. The indicator on the instrument panel, illuminates, indicating that the speed limiter is activated and ready to store a speed.
To store the current speed as the speed limit, press SET/+ or SET/- control. The desired speed is indicated on the instrument panel.

8. Speed Adjusting

After storing the desired speed, you can increase or decrease it by using the SET/+and SET/- controls. The increased or decreased speed will then be displayed on the instrument panel.

By continuing to accelerate when reaching the desired speed, you will not be able to exceed it However, you can temporarily go over the stored speed by accelerating forcefully. While going over the desired speed, the stored speed may flash on the instrument panel Let off the accelerator and slow down to get below the desired speed, and the speed limiter will activate again.

9. Cruise Control

Cruise control allows you to set a desired speed while driving, allowing you to relax your foot on the gas accelerator. To engage cruise control, simply choose either Cruise Control and then SET/+ or SET/- while driving at the desired speed. The desired speed will be displayed on the instrument cluster.

You can also raise or lower the speed that has been saved by using either the SET/+ or SET/- buttons. To temporarily disable cruise control, just use the standby control. RES may also be used to re-establish a previously set speed if the road and traffic conditions allow.
The cruise control function can also be canceled by applying brakes or the clutch or by shifting the gear into neutral.

Maintenance

1. Bonnet and Engine Oil

To open the bonnet, lift the bonnet and push the safety catch to the left. Raise the bonnet, and fix it with the support struts. Close the bonnet after you have made sure that no foreign objects have been left in the engine compartment.
When closing the bonnet, lower it from about 30 cm above the fully closed position until it is fully closed.

2. Bodywork

It is also essential to wash the Dacia Duster Third Generation properly and with high-quality auto care products. When using a pressure washer, keep the stream at least 15 cm away from the vehicle's body.

Moreover, avoid damaging the body by removing the washer from the surface of the car at a 90-degree angle and letting the jet stay in one spot for too long, especially on seals or places with a chipped lacquer coat.

The driver should also keep an eye out for any chips in the vehicle's lacquer or minor accidents. In case of any incidents, it is necessary to repair the damaged spots as soon as possible to prevent rust and other severe problems. All of the mentioned steps will allow the Dacia Duster owner to keep the vehicle's body in excellent condition and prolong its good appearance.
